Exhibition Statement
In Paganism, the term ‘magick’ embodies ritual and spiritual intentions, coined by Aleister Crowley in the 20th century to distinguish esoteric practice from stage magic.
Doreen Valiente, in her book Natural Magic (1975), defines magick as an inherent aspect of the universe:
All is part of nature; but much of the realm of nature is ‘occult’, that is, hidden. The occultist, therefore, is one who ventures into these hidden realms.
What hidden realms can be found within nature? What occults lurk in the wildness? What magick can be unveiled in our world?
"Earth Worship: Magick in Nature" celebrates alignment with nature, reverence for the Earth, and the use of our innate power to manifest intentions.
By transcending the surface truths of landscapes and delving inward and outward simultaneously, this collection invites viewers to explore the Earth and themselves in new ways.

About the Artist
Sarah Lamb is a semi-abstract landscape artist.
Primarily working in acrylic and on a circular base, Sarah captures representations of nature through vivid colour and organic shapes. Her work depicts dramatic natural scenes, where form and flow are often depicted through sweeping textural paintwork.
Having grown up on the moors of England and by the wild sea of the Jurassic coast, the bold, organic, and ferocious spirit of these landscapes inspire Sarah’s work now. Drawn to the mystery and beauty of the land’s many layers, her work often seems dynamic, evoking the captivating, transformative, and raw power of nature. Sarah yearns to represent the profound connection that exists between humanity and the natural world.
Sarah paints from her studio in the rural forests of Wales, where she lives with her husband, young child, and goldendoodle, Oscar.
